This 200 m² family home was built entirely of solid wood. Created in collaboration with architect Jean-Michel Martignoni and the company " Ma Maison en Bois ", it combines rough concrete floors, solid pine walls and more modern elements.
The kitchen is one of these modern touches. Dressed in a white composite material that gives a mineral appearance, the kitchen contrasts with the surrounding wood. The sink, too, is adorned in white, giving the whole an elegant look.
Opposite this sleek block is a central monolith (found throughout the house) into which some of the appliances are integrated. The material used is a raw-looking laminate, which harmonizes well with the concrete floor and the white of the kitchen.
One of the challenges for this kitchen was ventilation. The hood was integrated into the worktop, which winds its way from floor to ceiling, creating a volume perfectly integrated into the architecture of the house. As far as the credenza was concerned, it was not possible to hide the solid planking on the walls. We therefore opted for a transparent glass credenza to protect the wood without concealing it.
Being able to work on a very modern new building while retaining the warmth of wood and the very interesting partnership with a recognized architect and a company specializing in wood construction.
